Drug Insurance
With drug coverage, you can reduce the cost of certain medications. Remember that Plan Major is the second (2nd) payer for your drug coverage, so you must first submit your claims to the RAMQ or another private insurance company.

Prescriptions can only be filled for a maximum of 30 days’ supply. This student coverage does not replace the drug insurance required by the Government of Quebec.

Dental Care

For claims made directly to the dental office, you may need to provide the TELUS ADJUDICARE 34 / AUTOBEN digital identifier.
It is important to obtain a treatment plan from your treating specialist to confirm coverage for the prescribed procedures, especially if the cost of the procedures exceeds $200. Certain limitations may apply.

Gender Affirmation coverage
Gender transition insurance coverage and insurance specifically designed to help people undergoing gender transition cover the costs associated with their transition process.
Eligibility and characteristics
- Medical procedures must be performed in Canada.
- The person must have been diagnosed with persistent gender dysphoria* or gender incongruence**.
- The person must have obtained approval from the public health insurance plan of their province or territory of residence.
- The person must have obtained prior approval from the insurer, accompanied by documents confirming acceptance into the gender affirmation program of their provincial health care plan.
- The person must be covered by the health component of their student plan.
- Dependents covered by the health component of the plan are eligible for this coverage.
*Gender dysphoria is a feeling of significant distress or difficulty functioning related to a person’s persistent feeling that their birth sex does not match their self-perception as male, female, mixed, neutral, or other (gender identity).
**Gender incongruence is a marked and persistent incompatibility between a person’s gender identity and the gender assigned at birth, without necessarily causing psychological distress as in the case of gender dysphoria.

Coverage details
Surgeries and treatments provided for the purpose of reversing gender affirmation surgery are excluded from coverage.
Fracture Insurance
Thanks to your supplementary student plan coverage, you benefit from La Fracture insurance. This means you can receive up to $1,000 in the event of a fracture resulting from an accident. In addition, benefits are payable in addition to any other insurance held with an insurer or government plan.
Coverage details
These benefits are not cumulative, and in the event of multiple fractures, the Insurer will pay you the benefit for the fracture entitling you to the highest amount. All claims must be submitted to Plan Major within 30 days of the date of the event. Please remember to send us the claim form and any other documents required to process the claim.
Accident Insurance
With this coverage, you could receive reimbursements in the event of an accident.

Your plan’s accident insurance covers several situations, such as dental and healthcare expenses in the event of an accident. It also covers ambulance transportation costs and chiropractor and physiotherapist service fees. Please note that for claims for care received following an accident, accident coverage always applies secondarily.
What is considered an accident?
An accident is defined as an unintentional and unforeseen event caused by an external source. It is important to consult the contract to find out what is covered by accident insurance.

Travel Insurance
With this plan, you are covered for medical emergencies abroad and trip cancellations up to $5 million.
Coverage details
Your coverage plan covers trips lasting up to 180 consecutive days. In addition, trips must take place during the current coverage period.
