Registration for insurance

To benefit from the many advantages offered by the international student insurance offered through the Major Plan, it is imperative to ensure beforehand that you are admissible. It is essential that you send us a written statement attesting your state of health at the time you apply, so that we can determine your admissibility for coverage.

Registration must be in two steps. First, you must send us your personal information by e-mail to student@majorplan.ca. Following the reception of the acknowledgement of receipt and instructions on the various payment methods of the premium, you will have to proceed to the payment in a second step. 

PHASE 1 : Required information

It is mandatory that you pass through the Major Plan to proceed with your registration. You will need to send us by email a request to register for the insurance at the following email adress : student@majorplan.ca. In your application, you must indicate the expected date of your arrival in Canada and the date of your departure and give us the following information: 

  • First and last name 
  • Gender
  • Birth date
  • Telephone number *
  • Email Address
  • Address 1 (located in your country of origin)
  • Address 2 (located in Canada) *
  • Scool's name
  • Programs of study
  • Number 
  • Number of years expected in the program

In addition, in the event that you are the victim of an accident or you die, we need the name of a beneficiary and the relationaship you share with the latter. 

You must also indicate whether you wish to obtain the basic or enhanced insurance plan. 

You may refer to the following form of subscription letter as a model : 

* OPTIONAL: Please provide us with your telephone number and mailing address located in Canada if known at the time of your application. Otherwise, you may notify us at a later date when the information is available.

PHASE 2 : Payment

Your coverage will only be effective upon receipt of your premium payment, which must be made in a single installment. The amount of your premium is calculated based on your length of stay in Canada and includes the additional premium for the addition of each of your dependents, if applicable.

To pay for your premium, you will need to contact our customer service department by telephone during our operating hours. You can either : 

  • By EFT
  • By credit card

For reasons of effiiciency and processing time, we will not accept payments by check, money order or cash.
